Beauty Trends That Need To Stop
Beauty Trends come and go, some are fun, some are a novelty, and some are just awful. These are the five that, not only need to stop but should never have happened, to begin with. Trends that are unflattering or flat-out look ridiculous.
Spider Lashes
If you’ve been following me for a little while, you know I do not like this look. At all. I mentioned it numerous times in my best and worst mascara posts. In the process of trying different brands, formulas, and brushes, it was surprising how many were marketed towards creating that exact look. And then there were those that promised separated, beautiful lashes only to produce these exact same results. It’s very strange to create what looks like spider legs where lashes are supposed to be, not to mention how clumpy they get which can pull many out at a time. It’s just not good.

and the “Instagram” makeup craze, this look has become one that is duplicated by so many and even worse, to the point where some have even gotten lip fillers. It creates a very fake, plastic look and could be unsafe if injections are done.
Brows so thick they defy the laws of nature
Another Instagram craze, what started out as a little over enhancement has turned into two big blocks on the browbone. If this trend evolves anymore, the entire face will be one big eyebrow.
Fake Freckles
Freckles are lovely. Those who have them naturally should celebrate and embrace them. But this fairly new trend of fake freckles is something that’s got to go. These pseudo spots create a completely over the top, artificial look, and while that may be the point for some, it’s just an unnecessary. You can even find press on sheets that apply like a pore strip and can even create that shape fairly big across your face.
Stiletto Nails
More than just an unattractive manicure, these nails are actually borderline dangerous. They’re sharp, pointy and scream potential hazard. On the less risky side, they break easily which is can be a hassle, even painful, and can get expensive. According to a slew of fashion and beauty magazines, 2017 is going to be the year of negative space nails, and that’ll be a refreshing change as well as a way more sensible and wearable trend that still stands out.
These are the beauty trends that 2016 will hopefully carry out with it. There will undoubtedly be even more ridiculous trends in 2017, but at least we might be able to say move past some of these.
